Can Rob Ford reinvent himself from political punchline to football pundit?
The Sports Junkies, a radio show in the U.S. capital, announced that Toronto's embattled mayor is tentatively slated to start a weekly gig on Thursday at 8:40 a.m. ET on 106.7 The Fan. Ford will be talking about his NFL picks, the station said.
Ford recently was stripped of his powers by the Toronto City Council, after he admitted to smoking crack cocaine in a "drunken stupor." He took some serious ribbing Sunday when he attended the Buffalo Bills vs. Atlanta Falcons game at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
The mayor, who was once a high school football coach, isn't the first pol to take his turn behind the microphone. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been a guest host twice on WFAN, the New York-area sports talk radio station.
